The Eiffel Tower is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ Mars in Paris . Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel , the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World 's Fair. The tower stands 324 metre (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building.
Parc Asterix is a theme amusement park in France, based on the stories of Asterix by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny and was opened in 1989. Parc Asterix is situated approximately 35km north of Paris in Plailly in the departement of Oise and even has its own exit off the A16 motorway. But there are also shuttle services in operation from Charles de Gaul airport.
A modified version of the park model that began as Disneyland in California, the park covers 566,560 m² and consists of five areas known as 'lands' which each represent a theme or time period.
